Traditional Martial Arts - Effective Self-Defence
Ju-Jitsu is one of the most comprehensive self-defence systems in the world. It has a wide range of techniques to suit all ages and builds. Ju-Jitsu will teach you how to defend yourself effectively against aggressive and determined attackers.
Why Ju-Jitsu?
It is one of Japan's oldest martial arts, developed in an era of almost continual warfare. Its techniques were tried and refined in actual combat, with only the very best lasting through to the present day. But don't think that Ju-Jitsu has stayed still though! Its syllabus is expanding all the time to take in the requirements of the modern day.
So wide is the Ju-Jitsu syllabus of effective techniques that it doesn't matter your build or experience, there are techniques that will suit you. Ju-Jitsu is effective because it uses scientific principles-not just brute force. Someone pushes you, so you pull them towards you. By using the well developed principles of yielding, the aggressor's strength can be used against them. Ju-Jitsu will really work for you!
Ju-Jitsu distracts the attacker with strikes to nerve points that can daze or paralyse, a simple throw can then take him hard to the floor. Ju-Jitsu attacks the aggressors vulnerable joints. A little leverage skilfully applied will bring the strongest attacker to their knees.
Ju-Jitsu Techniques are easy to learn The mechanics of Ju-Jitsu techniques are not difficult to follow. The average person who knows nothing about martial arts will quickly learn highly effective techniques in as few as 12 lessons! Only one evening a week will guarantee you some degree of competence. Our expert coaches are trained to teach effectively and safely.
Freestyle Martial Arts
is a unique system that combines the best of various martial arts disciplines. The philosophy behind this system is to provide practitioners with a versatile set of skills that can be applied in a range of real-life situations. Sensei Steve’s experience as a doorman has given him a practical understanding of the importance of self-defence and has influenced the techniques he has incorporated into his system.
One of the key features of Freestyle Martial Arts is its focus on close-quarter combat; techniques are designed to be effective in confined spaces. The system also places an emphasis on striking, grappling, and joint locks, making it a well-rounded approach to self-defence.
Despite its practical nature, Freestyle Martial Arts also has a strong emphasis on tradition. Sensei Steve has studied many traditional martial arts styles and has incorporated some of their techniques and philosophies into his system. This blend of traditional and contemporary styles has resulted in a unique approach to martial arts that is both effective and respectful of the past.
Sensei Steve's dedication to his craft is evident in his achievements. He has achieved a Dan grade from Welham Martial Arts and a number of other arts, which is a testament to his skill and expertise. Overall, Freestyle Martial Arts is a system that offers a comprehensive approach to self-defence, combining practical techniques with traditional values.
The combination of the 2 systems gives a wide selection of self defence at its best!
